Introducing Eragon Skills

Eragon now learns how you and your team work, and gets better at it with every task.

Today we're introducing Eragon Skills. A skill is a reusable set of instructions, steps and resources that teaches Eragon how a specific piece of work gets done. With skills, Eragon:

  1. Follows your organization's rules, every time, without being reminded.

  2. Learns your working style, so its output looks like yours on the first try.

  3. Navigates your software faster, following the paths your team already knows work.

You don't have to write skills yourself. Eragon proposes them from the way you work and refines them as it learns. And with the Skill Hub, teams can discover skills from across the web, share them with each other and bring in skills they've built in other agent harnesses.

Capable agents still don't know how your team works

Today's agents are smart generalists. Ask one to prepare a board update and it will write a reasonable one. It won't be your board update: the metrics in the order your CFO expects, the commentary in your house voice, the appendix your auditors ask for.

The gap shows up in three places.

  • Rules. Companies run on policies: discount limits, approval chains, data handling requirements, brand guidelines. Restating them in every prompt doesn't scale, and an agent that forgets one is an agent nobody trusts with real work.

  • Style. Every team has its own way of doing things, from how a QBR is structured to how a support reply opens. A generic agent produces generic work, and someone spends the next twenty minutes rewriting it.

  • Software. Enterprise tools are deep and idiosyncratic. An agent that has to rediscover which report, filter and export to use each time is slow, costly and prone to wrong turns.

Today that knowledge lives in people's heads, scattered docs and long prompts users copy and paste. It needs to live somewhere the agent can reliably use it.

Skills package how work gets done

A skill is a small, self-contained package: a description of when it applies, the instructions and steps to follow, and any resources the work needs, such as templates, examples, scripts or reference docs.

ALWAYS IN VIEWThe short description of every skill, so Eragon knows when one applies.

LOADED WHEN NEEDEDThe steps, rules and resources, read in only when a task calls for them.

Skills · a skill says when it applies, how the work is done and what the work needs. Context stays lean with hundreds of skills installed.

The Eragon harness keeps every available skill in view by its short description, and loads the full skill only when a task calls for it. That keeps context lean, so Eragon can draw on hundreds of skills without slowing down or losing focus. When a request comes in, Eragon matches it to the right skills, follows them and combines them with everything else it knows: company knowledge, memory and the systems it's connected to.

Because Eragon is model-agnostic, a skill works the same whichever model runs the task, including every model Eragon Flux routes to.

Skills make Eragon work the way your team does

Eragon abides by your organization's rules

Skills encode the policies a team has to follow: discount thresholds that need approval, fields that must be filled before a deal moves stage, data that can't leave a region, the brand guidelines every external document has to meet. Eragon applies them whenever the work calls for them, whether or not the user remembers to ask.

Admins decide which skills apply across the organization, to specific teams or to individual users, so the rules that matter are applied consistently.

Eragon learns your working style

Skills capture the preferences that make work recognizably yours: the structure of a weekly update, the tone of a customer email, the level of detail a manager expects in a pipeline review. Eragon applies them automatically, so its first draft is close to the one you'd have written.

Take an account executive preparing for a renewal. Their skill says to open with usage trends, flag any open escalations and end with a proposed expansion. Eragon builds the brief in that shape every time, without the rep spelling it out.

Eragon navigates your software faster

Skills record the paths through your tools that are known to work: which dashboard holds the right number, which filters to apply, which export the finance team trusts. Instead of exploring an application from scratch, Eragon goes straight to the answer.

This matters most in the deep, configurable systems enterprises run on, and in the websites Eragon reaches. Fewer wrong turns means faster results, fewer tokens and more reliable output.

Eragon proposes skills from the way you work

Most people never write down how they work, and they shouldn't have to. Eragon watches for patterns across your conversations and proposes skills on its own.

When you ask for the same kind of report every Monday, correct the same formatting twice or walk Eragon through the same five steps in a tool, Eragon notices. It drafts a skill that captures the pattern and asks whether to save it. You can review the steps, edit anything that's off and approve it in one click.

From then on, the skill is used automatically whenever the work comes up. Knowledge that used to live only in someone's head becomes something Eragon can apply, and that the rest of the team can reuse.

Skills get better with every task

A skill isn't finished when it's saved. Each time Eragon uses one, it learns from how the task went: the edits you made to its output, the steps that failed, the shortcuts that worked and the feedback you gave.

Eragon folds those lessons back into the skill. If you keep moving the risks section to the top of a memo, the skill updates to put it there. If a vendor portal changes its layout, the navigation steps update with it.

The Skill Hub brings skills from everywhere into one place

The best way of doing something is often already written down, by a teammate, or the open-source community. The Skill Hub is where Eragon users find it.

  • Discover useful skills from across the web. Browse and search a growing catalog of skills for common work, from financial modeling and contract review to working with specific tools. Install one and Eragon can use it right away.

  • Share skills with your team. A skill one person builds, or one Eragon proposes from their work, can be published to a team or the whole organization. The best way to run a process becomes the default way, and new hires get it on day one.

  • Import skills from the harness of your choice. Skills follow an open format. Teams that have built skills for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or other agent harnesses can bring them into Eragon as they are, and keep using them across tools.

We built the Skill Hub on the same principle as the rest of Eragon: you shouldn't be locked into one model or one vendor. Your team's know-how should go wherever your work does.

Get started

Models will keep getting more capable. What makes an agent useful at a particular company is everything around the model: the context it has, the tools it can reach and how well it knows the way that company works. Skills are how Eragon learns that last part, and keeps learning it.

Eragon Skills and the Skill Hub are available for all Eragon customers. Open Skills in your Eragon settings to see the skills Eragon has already proposed for you, or reach out at hello@eragon.ai to roll them out across your team.
